The Reinsman Sharon Camarillo Tender Touch Signature Iron Wrapped Lifesaver Gag Bit is a unique design from renowned barrel racer and clinician Sharon Camarillo. Part of her signature bit line, this gag bit is handcrafted in the USA by Reinsman in Yoakum, Texas and designed as a transition bit for barrel horses learning indirect control through leverage from the shanks and pressure from the curb chain. This bit features 5" stainless steel cheek shanks paired with a 5 1/2" wide, 3/8" sweet iron-wrapped mouthpiece and a lifesaver ring in the center. The sweet iron is designed to encourage salivation for a supple mouth feel, while the bit works across the tongue, lips, and bars.Proper adjustment is important for the gag action to work correctly. The headstall can be adjusted so the mouthpiece touches the corner of the horse's mouth or shortened to create one wrinkle. The chain curb should be adjusted with approximately 3–4 fingers of space between the chain and the bottom of the horse's jaw.
