Customers praised this ranch roper saddle as "high quality" and "comfortable" for long rides. Many noted it "barely needed break-in" and fits horses well. The strip-down rig and in-seat rigging received positive feedback. However, some customers found stirrup leathers too short for taller riders and noted discrepancies between product photos and received items (stirrups, conchos).

One year later

I have had this saddle for a year now and logged quite a few miles on it. Great rig and if for any reason I need a new saddle I am buying this one again!

Beautiful

I was gifted this as my first saddle by my boyfriend and it is beautiful! The picture doesn’t do it justice. The saddle is high quality and definitely worth it.

What I was looking for.

This saddle was exactly what I was looking for. I have already won money in it and really like riding it. This saddle really holds you in, and the strip down rig is very comfortable. It fits my horse well and I am loving it so far. 4 stars as I am not sure how it will hold up yet, but loving it so far.

Good Saddle

I like a pencil roll and would prefer a dark oil version but this saddle checked all the other boxes I was looking for.
Good build and really like the seat rig. I traded the factory stirrups in for 4ā€ bells.
I rode it 6 miles out of the box with no discomfort.
Thanks Tanner for your great service.

Solid rig.

This is a really solid rig. The stirrup leathers swing freely which helps with leg cues and knee pain. The ground seat is well done with no lumps and has a nice pocket. I really like the in seat rigging and the streamlining of the skirts. All in all I would recommend this saddle to any who is spending hours horseback.

Olin Young saddle

I love this saddle it is really comfortable and easy on the knees! The only reason why I give it a 4 star and not a five star is because it doesn’t come with the stirrups that are in the picture.

Saddle barely needed anything to break in, very comfortable and fit my husbands colt perfectly. Very happy with this purchase, will buy another!

Quality Rig.

This rig is exactly what i was looking for. The fit and finish is how a high quality saddle should look. It sits well and sweats one right. On another point, I am 6’5ā€ and the fenders are a little short. But I have them making me some extra long ones.

Good Saddle

If you compare this to a higher quality custom saddle, you will be disappointed. This is as advertised…a stripped down ranch saddle. Nonetheless, I like the way it rides and fits the 3 year old that I have been using it on. A couple of notes: 1. It came with leather rosettes instead of conchos. I actually like them better on this saddle, but it wasn’t as described. 2. It also came with metal covered wood stirrups instead of rawhide. I like them better as well but added my own that I prefer. This seems to be a good saddle for the money.

Good all around saddle

Build quality is pretty good. Solid stitch work and great leather work. Seat is solid. Latigo is ok, kinda wish it was stitched through the eyes.
I’ve worked a 4 year old twice under it and he doesn’t have any issues with it.

Great saddle

At first glance I thought this saddle would be uncomfortable but not the case. It is surprisingly comfortable to ride for hours. Other reviews have stated that the stirrup leathers were too short. Well I guess NRS listened because I have plenty and I'm 5'9". I would definitely recommend this saddle to anyone looking for quality at a good price.

Good ranch saddle.

It's a very comfortable saddle. It fits my QH with an even sweat line. It is well balanced and doesn't pinch in the front. I wish the seat was just a tiny bit taller but I'm just used to my husband's deep saddle. I love the stirrup leathers and I'm never going back to the other style ever again. These are super flexible and adjusted high enough for my 5'3" height. I would actually be a size 14.5 seat but for now this one will work just fine. We did have to tap the copper rivets smooth with a hammer by the girth but they smoothed out just fine. One big complaint it the rear cinch is too short. On my horse it buckles right at the same level as my spurs. I took the middle section out and replaced it with a longer one and it works fine.

I love it BUT

Absolutely love this saddle. I typically like pencil rolls better, but the Cheyenne roll is really nice too. Very impressed. Fits the horses great! The only thing I’m not to happy about is the fender length. I’m 5’9 in a 15in & have 3 holes from the bottom left to lengthen my stirrups. If you’re over 6ft, I think they’d be too short..just a heads up!

Great

I love the saddle it’s really comfortable seat and fits a horse good. The only problem is the stirrup leathers a way to short to be on a 16ā€ saddle. I am only 511 and none of the holes fit me so now I can’t even ride in it . Why put leathers to fit a child on a 16 inch seat saddle?

Quality

I bought this saddle 2 years ago thinking it would be lighter for my young horse. And I didn’t want young horses ruining my good saddles. But this has turned into my good saddle. I’ve ridden it countless miles and I love it. It has far exceeded my expectations. The quality is great and there isn’t one place that I thought they cut corner. I get a lot of compliments and questions when people see it. Hopefully they’ve bought one and enjoyed it as much as I have.
