The Reinsman Twisted Sweet and Sour Dog Bone Loose Ring Snaffle Bit is highly favored by both trainers and riders. This loose ring snaffle bit is intended for direct reining with two hands and features non-leverage rings. The 3-inch stainless steel rings give the bit some weight, enhancing communication between horse and rider by providing pre-signals to rein cues. The mouthpiece, measuring 5 inches wide, has a 5/16" diameter and is constructed with a sweet iron and copper twist with a dog bone center. The mullen relief design of the mouthpiece, which is found on all Reinsman snaffle mouthpieces, ensures even pressure across the bars and tongue to eliminate the nutcracker effect. The combination of the sweet iron and copper twist on the bars of the mouthpiece naturally rusts over time, creating a sweet and sour taste for the horse and increasing salivation for a supple mouth.
