Eventhough this bit is short shanked, it had the full gag effect and is not as severe. It has a three piece mouth with twisted wire on either side of a dogbone. The Short Shank Double Gag is intended for a rider to use on a light-mouthed horse that may need more direction and lift in competition runs as speed increases.
