Designed by the "World's Greatest Horseman" Bob Avila, this Professional's Choice Santa Maria Correction Horse Bit will be a must-have in your tack collection! The sweet iron correction mouthpiece adds mild palate pressure to encourage the horse to break at the poll, allowing correction without creating intimidation. The higher port offers more control for horses that pull on the bit. Port is 2", mouth is 5", and cheek is 7-1/4".

Bob Avila is the trainer of over 35 world champion or reserve world champion Quarter Horses, in events that range from performance to halter. In 1996, Bob Avila was named the AQHA Professional Horseman of the Year. In June 2006, Bob took both All-Around Stock Horse Champion and reserve champion honors at the Magnificent 7 competition at the Western States Horse Expo, which features seven of the world’s most skilled horsemen. Professional’s Choice manufactures a complete line of Bob Avila bits, spurs, and training DVD’s.

    Excellent Quality Bit

I was given the opportunity to use a Tom Balding bit of similar design, but there was no way I could justify the $800 price tag given the level where I compete. This was the closest thing I could find to that bit and it works every bit as well with my horse.

Very nice finish at a reasonable price.
