American Hats 10X Steel Open Crown Felt Cowboy Hat

This was a want of my fiancé, but apparently a very popular item this year. NRS is an authorized American Hat retailer so I felt comfortable using them. They had the right size in stock, had a holiday discount, huge bonus considering the price for these, and it shipped the next day. I was not expecting it to be here before Christmas so I made a certificate for it, but I didn't need it as it arrived in Saturday the 23rd. Thank you for the quick shipping! I ordered it with an open crown and brim as my fiancé is very particular on his hat shaping and that was perfect. He's used you guys before, I had not. Thank you so much for helping to have something to open on Christmas!

The hat is excellent, NRS did grest job shaping it and included the American sticker for back. Delivery was timely no issues. That is whyn i buy all my gear at NRS.

I love this hat. I just wished I knew to order a size larger than my straw hats.

I was not super impressed with the hat purchasing experience at NRS.

I asked for a crown shape and within a few minutes of ordering I changed my mind. I’m indecisive unfortunately and if I’m spending $500+ on a hat, I’m gonna be a little picky. I call NRS promptly and they claimed they couldn’t change the details of the order…
A few days later the hat still hadn’t shipped, so I called again asking again, could they change it. Although the hat hadn’t even been shaped yet, they still wouldn’t change it.

I receive the hat, and crown aside, the brim is uneven and I had to use my steamer at home to fix the hat, it was bad enough to where I wouldn’t wear it in public. After ordering online a hat from a popular hat store, I noticed a totally different purchasing experience. They texted me, called me to talk about the shape and my preferences, and confirmed with me that I liked the hat before they shipped it. I will continue to buy tack and ropes at NRS, but I won’t purchase a hat again.

Well made hat, was slightly bent up in shipping but my local western shop was able to fix it in a couple of minutes

The Hat by American Hat Company, was made of excellent quality and workmanship, as I expected. The ordering was easy and fast from NRS. The only draw back was, that I`d had requsted the hat to be shaped at NRS before shipping. NRS shipped it to me with a Open Crown. So I had to take it to a local hat shaper an have it done, which cost me a extra 30 bucks. Outside of that drawback, I`m happy with my purchase and will buy from NRS again !

Loved the feel and look of the American hat!!

My hat was not shaped like it was supposed to be. I will have to drive 5 hours to the NRS store in Arizona to have the hat shaped.

Overall, loved the color. The crown looked good but we were pretty disappointed to see the brim was crooked straight out of the box. One side of the front drooped a good inch lower than the other and you could tell the brim was creased unevenly. For paying $400, we expected it to be ready to wear. We ended up steaming the brim at home to shape it and you know if you're able to make it look better doing it in your kitchen, it was fairly rough to begin with. Other than that, it was a nice hat. Might have been our bad luck.
