Steel wire reinforces the venting …. Not just the brim!
The pictures really don’t do this model any justice! Looks really great in person. The hat features what is barely visible braided steel wire woven into the venting to give some added robust strength to an already beefy hat! The lacquer alone which American Hats uses is head and shoulders the best in the straw hat segment: I believe oil based. Have mine shaped in a Minnick crown and a Wide JB brim: the shapers nailed it perfect! Bring on the summer, cause I’m ready!
