Description

The Lone Star Thunderbird Head Rope is a unique four-strand rope crafted from a nylon and poly blend. Featuring a multi-directional, double-twisted core, this design allows the center core to counterbalance the entire rope, resulting in even weight distribution, exceptional tip feel, and excellent horn bite. Developed in collaboration with NFR champion Patrick Smith and Lone Star rope maker Guy Alford, the Thunderbird is Smith's go-to rope. The two experts meticulously refined every detail, experimenting with various core twisting methods to achieve the perfect performance. Smith considers the Thunderbird the best heel rope ever made, appreciating its overall feel while adjusting the lays throughout the year.
